Val d’Orcia: voices (and purrs) from the Via Francigena, May 27th

Sulla Via Francigena (Along the Via Francigena) – May 27th 2024

I asked tourists I met this morning on the part of the Via Francigena that passes through the Val d’Orcia to tell me their impressions about the Val d’Orcia and what made them decide to come on holiday here. Here we go:

“If you’re wondering where to stay in Val d’Orcia, you’ll find charming hotels nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of the Val d’Orcia region. The nature here is breathtaking.” (Paula, Brazil)

“Yes. From Florence to Val d’Orcia Tuscany offers a breathtaking journey into the heart of the Brunello di Montalcino region, perfect for wine enthusiasts and lovers of the Tuscan countryside.” (Lando, Brazil)

“The Val d’Orcia region is renowned for its stunning scenery and delightful Val d’Orcia restaurants that offer authentic Tuscan cuisine.” (Roberta, Brazil)

“We were planning a family holiday in Tuscany, so we decided to visit the Val d’Orcia region because it provides idyllic accommodations and plenty of activities for all ages.” (Umberto, Brazil)

“A bike holiday Tuscany -style would be incomplete without exploring the rolling hills and scenic vineyards in Montepulciano, even though they are not part of the Val d’Orcia region.” (Marcellus, The Netherlands)

“We will experience the best of Tuscan wine at a Val d’Orcia winery, where we can savor the rich flavours of the Argiano Brunello di Montalcino.” (Armando, Italy)

“Learn the perfect Val d’Orcia pronunciation while enjoying a glass of Caparzo Brunello di Montalcino, and staying at one of the charming Val d’Orcia Tuscany hotels amidst beautiful landscapes. Now, I can’t think of a better way to spend my holiday!” (Randall, England)

“Delight in a luxurious family holiday in Tuscany, with stays at the finest Val d’Orcia Tuscany hotels and visits to world-class vineyards in Montepulciano, which is just a few kilometres away from the Val d’Orcia.” (Liza, England)

The best time to visit Tuscany is now. Vacanza Toscana is for you too.

Post Scriptum: This morning, while walking in the countryside, I heard a cat crying desperately. I looked into the bushes from where the crying seemed to come from, and I saw the adorable creature you see in the pics below, all alone. He (or she? It seems a male cat, but it’s too young to tell…) is slightly bigger than my fist, maybe 6-8 weeks old, and he (or she) is seriously beautiful. Now the kitten is part of our family. Tomorrow we’ll take him (or her) to the vet to check that everything is ok. A big purr from him (or her) to you all.
