Val d’Orcia: voices from the Via Francigena, May 26th

Sulla Via Francigena (Along the Via Francigena) – May 26th 2024

Two days ago I met a couple of tourists from England on the part of the Via Francigena that passes through the Val d’Orcia, and we had a brief chat about their holiday in Val d’Orcia.

“The Val d’Orcia region is simply breathtaking! The Val d’Orcia wineries are a must-visit. We will also visit the vineyards in Montepulciano. We hope to find the best roads for a bike holiday Tuscany -style. From Florence to Val d’Orcia Tuscany is not a long drive, we stopped in Torrenieri for lunch, and the food was excellent. The Val d’Orcia restaurants are incredible. We are wondering where to stay in Val d’Orcia, but really anywhere is gorgeous! This place is perfect for a family holiday Tuscany-style. And the Val d’Orcia Tuscany hotels are top-notch! Can you believe the beauty of the Brunello di Montalcino region? The Brunello di Montalcino grape is our favorite. We love the Argiano Brunello di Montalcino, but the Caparzo Brunello di Montalcino is a revelation, and the San Lorenzo Brunello di Montalcino too is excellent. To think that just 10 days ago we were asking ourselves ‘what’s the Val d’Orcia pronunciation again? Where is Val d’Orcia Italy exactly?’ Now we’re here, and we wish we could stay much longer than just three weeks.”

Thank you for your time, Alice and Michael.

The best time to visit Tuscany is now. Vacanza Toscana is for you too.
